The Opportunity:
Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you’ll be involved in the financial management of residential developments from pre-construction through to final account, collaborating closely with construction, technical and sales colleagues to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial management of residential developments throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Assist with the preparation and ongoing management of development budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts.
- Procure subcontractor and supplier packages in line with project requirements.
- Prepare tender documentation and evaluate subcontractor quotations.
- Manage subcontractor valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
- Maintain accurate cost records and contribute to regular commercial reporting.
- Monitor project expenditure, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with construction, technical and sales teams to support project delivery.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial updates where required.
- Develop strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all commercial administration is completed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
About You:
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding, residential development or a similar construction environment.
- A sound understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, cost control and account management.
- Experience assisting with budgets, cost reporting and financial forecasting.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and a desire to develop your commercial career.
- A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification, or progress towards one, would be advantageous.
