Assistant Site Manager

Are you an immediately available Assistant Site Manager looking to join one of the UK’s leading housebuilders on a temporary basis?
We are supporting an established residential developer with the appointment of a temporary Assistant Site Manager at their Shawfair development in Edinburgh, this is an excellent chance to join a busy construction team delivering high-quality new build housing developments.
This temporary position is expected to run until mid mid-November with a view to this potentially extending beyond the end of the year.
The Role:
Working closely with the Site Manager and wider construction team, you will help ensure that homes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
The role would suit an Assistant Site Manager with residential construction experience who is confident coordinating trades, maintaining site standards and supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day delivery of the development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the daily management of site operations.
- Coordinating subcontractors, trades and labour.
- Monitoring build quality and progress against programme.
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
- Completing site inspections and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting the delivery of homes through to completion and handover.
- Assisting with the resolution of site and customer care issues.
- Building positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and colleagues.
About You:
You will ideally have experience working within new build residential construction as an Assistant Site Manager.
You should also have:
- A strong understanding of residential construction.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The confidence to coordinate trades and subcontractors.
- A proactive approach to quality and health and safety.
- A valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- First Aid certification.
- A valid CSCS card.
