We’re delighted to be supporting our client with the recruitment of an Architectural Assistant to join their growing Design Office in Perth. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your technical skills while working on a wide range of projects across agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential sectors. You’ll be involved in design work from early concept stages right through to completion, gaining valuable hands‑on experience along the way.
The Role:
As an Architectural Assistant, you’ll support the design team in producing accurate, compliant and practical technical information. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues, clients, Local Authorities and subcontractors, helping to ensure drawings and documents are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting with Proposal, Planning, Building Warrant and Construction Issue drawings.
- Helping develop design solutions that meet current Building Standards.
- Preparing CAD drawings and supporting 3D modelling tasks.
- Organising and managing incoming/outgoing design documentation.
- Supporting with regulatory, statutory and environmental requirements.
- Assisting senior team members during client meetings and presentations.
- Preparing construction drawings for site teams.
- Liaising with subcontractors and external stakeholders as required.
- Supporting site inspections and surveys.
- Assisting with Health & Safety documentation and O&M manuals.
About You:
You’re organised, eager to learn and confident working as part of a collaborative team. You have a good eye for detail, enjoy problem‑solving and can manage your workload effectively.
What We’re Looking For:- HNC/HND in Architectural Design, Architectural Technology or similar.
- Some experience across commercial, industrial or residential projects (placement or post‑graduate experience welcome).
- Essential: Basic understanding of steel frame design.
- Strong CAD skills; 3D modelling experience is a bonus.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
